Cruising!
Enjoy Some You-Time! - (2020 Fall update)
OK, Covid 19 has pushed everyone’s travel plans into the background. But hang in there, we’ll be up on our feet and running again!
Incidentally, in wake of the Covid 19 crisis, a number of cruise lines have already made sweeping changes, starting from reducing passenger load to about 70% (50% on some!) Even refunds may be collected up as close to 48 hours from the date of travel (check with your carrier). Also, the boarding procedures will include social distancing guidelines, health questionnaires, and have temperature checks for both passenger and crew. Anyone showing symptoms will be refused entry on board the ship. The usual buffet style will be replaced with servers giving you what you want from the buffet. Also, menus will be made available via the ship’s App (even for the bar).
Well, if there’s one form of travel that’s become more easily available and affordable, it’s cruising! There was time when it was just for a delectable few, but now cruises are pretty reasonably priced and fun filled.
Some cruises can get crowded and have long lines in some places, but that’s not always the case. Besides, I have found out that even on seemingly crowded cruises, there’s always some parts of the ship that have quiet places that you can retreat to when the need arises. More about these places coming up!
Relax and Rejuvenate
Cruises can give you some amazing views! Imagine relaxing on a deck with the scenery changing in front of you every minute. If you’re lucky to get a balcony cabin, there’s nothing like settling down on a recliner, stretching those legs out and watching the glorious views pass by as you sip on that fine wine!
But hey, even if you don’t have a balcony, virtually any open deck area affords the same view – and sometimes is even better as the view is wider and you could easily switch from port to starboard if that elusive whale decided to show up there!
Plan Your Cruise
You will enjoy a cruise better if you make plans ahead of time. There’s nothing worse than getting on board and finding out that you have forgotten your beach wear or that extra set of batteries – for which you might now have to pay an arm and a leg!
Planning is key having a wonderful relaxing time. I have been on many cruises and have put together a list that would help you plan things better.
